1Overview

VouchCord ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the VouchCord Discord bot and web dashboard.

Short version: We only collect the data necessary to make the Service work. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than running VouchCord.

2Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

We do not collect message content, voice data, direct messages, or any data beyond what is listed above.

3How We Use Your Data

Data is used exclusively to provide and improve the VouchCord Service:

Authenticating dashboard users via Discord OAuth2
Displaying your server list and settings in the dashboard
Storing vouch submissions and displaying them in the vouch channel
Enforcing role restrictions and admin approval workflows configured by server admins
Generating vouch embed messages with your username and avatar

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

4Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a MySQL database hosted on our server. We implement standard security measures including:

HTTPS encryption for all web traffic
Prepared SQL statements to prevent injection attacks
Your login session is stored in a secure, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in on your device until you log out
OAuth2 tokens are never logged and are deleted from our database when you log out

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5Third-Party Services

VouchCord interacts with the following third-party services:

Discord: Authentication (OAuth2) and bot functionality via the Discord API. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts: Used to serve web fonts. Google may collect anonymized usage data per their own privacy policy.

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third-party data processors.

6Data Retention

We retain data for as long as it is necessary to provide the Service:

Session data: Kept so you stay signed in on your device and deleted as soon as you log out
Vouch records: Retained until manually deleted by a server administrator through the dashboard
Guild configuration: Retained until the bot is removed from the server, after which it may be deleted after a short retention window

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 10).

7Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Right to restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data
Right to object: Object to our processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8Children's Privacy

VouchCord is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

9Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted in the dashboard or via the bot. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
